Description

A group of North American Indigenous style regalia and craft components. The lot features a beaded hide band or sash, a fur animal tail, and an assortment of small animal hooves. The beaded band is executed on tan hide straps using seed beads in colors of white, red, black, and turquoise. The iconographic program includes stylized Thunderbirds, directional arrows, and diamond motifs, finished with a long beaded fringe featuring red bead accents. The fur tail displays variegated brown and gray tones with darker banding throughout. Also included is a collection of small, dark animal hooves, likely deer or elk dewclaws, which are presented both loose and within a plastic storage bag. These components are characteristic of items used in the construction of traditional dance regalia, rattles, or jingle ornamentation.
