Description
10 in. An antique Dietz Vesta railroad lantern featuring a metal frame and clear glass globe. The top chimney cap is embossed with the Dietz Vesta logo inside an oval. The upper horizontal rim of the frame is stamped with the initials N.Y.C.S., identifying it as property of the New York Central System. The clear glass globe is embossed with the manufacturer name Dietz inside an oval, followed by Vesta and New York U.S.A. The lantern is constructed with a wire bail handle and a protective wire cage for the globe. The lower section contains the fuel fount and burner assembly, which includes a side-mounted wick adjustment wheel.
