Description
80 x 96 A hand-pieced and hand-quilted cotton scrap quilt of American origin. The quilt is constructed in the traditional Log Cabin pattern, consisting of twenty rectangular blocks. Each block is composed of various printed and solid cotton fabrics, including calicos, florals, stripes, and solids in a palette of pink, blue, black, and cream. A repeating foliate print in blue, green, and red is featured throughout the piecing. The reverse side features a whole-cloth backing of magenta cotton printed with a white scrolling foliate and floral pattern. The quilt exhibits visible hand-quilting in parallel horizontal lines and is finished with a narrow magenta fabric binding.
