Description
A Coleman Model 200A single mantle pressure lantern, a classic piece of American outdoor equipment produced in Wichita, Kansas. This model, frequently referred to by collectors as The Red Lantern, features a red porcelain enameled steel ventilator hood secured by a ball nut and a red painted steel fount. The clear glass globe is printed in red with the Coleman logo and indicates it is for use on models 200 and 201. The collar is stamped with the Coleman sunburst logo and Model 200A. The red and white fount decal features the script Coleman logo with patents pending text. The control knob disk provides operating instructions and is marked Made in U.S.A. The underside of the fount is stamped with the Coleman sunburst logo, trade mark information, and the manufacturing location of Wichita, Kansas. A date stamp of 11 on the left and 66 on the right identifies the production date as November 1966. The unit includes a wire bail handle, fuel filler cap, and integrated pump mechanism.
