Description
A mid-20th century square-sectioned earthenware tea caddy featuring a fitted square lid with a central circular knob. The vessel is decorated throughout with a blue transfer-printed Chinoiserie landscape in the Blue Willow pattern, depicting pagodas, bridges with figures, sailing vessels, and stylized trees. The lid and shoulder are finished with butterfly and geometric borders. The base of the caddy bears a blue-printed mark that reads RINGTONS LIMITED. TEA MERCHANTS. A small remnant of a paper label is also present on the base.
