Description
This set of cast metal figurines represents the British Gold State Coach and its ceremonial procession. In the style of mid-20th-century commemorative models by makers such as Lesney or Benbros, the assembly includes a highly ornate carriage and a team of horses. The carriage is rendered in cast metal with a silver-toned finish, featuring detailed Rococo-style scrollwork, putti figures on the carriage platforms, a central face mask on the lower body, and a crown-shaped finial on the roof. The procession consists of several pairs of horses, including those with postilion riders. The horses are painted in an off-white and gray palette with red saddle blankets, while the riders are depicted in red livery with black caps. The horses are connected by gold-toned metal chains and a central drawbar. No manufacturer marks are visible on the pieces.
