Description
A largelithographed metal advertising tin for Strietmann’s Pennant brand Fancy Butter Pretzels, produced by The Strietmann Biscuit Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. The cylindrical container features a dark chocolate brown background with yellow and gold-toned graphics. The front display includes the brand name Strietmann’s in a stylized script above a central pennant flag emblazoned with the word PENNANT. Below, the text reads Fancy BUTTER PRETZELS in a combination of script and bold serif fonts, flanked by two line-art illustrations of pretzels. The tin is constructed with a removable lid and two side-mounted wire bail handles secured by riveted metal plates. Markings include THE STRIETMANN BISCUIT CO. CINCINNATI, OHIO along the bottom front edge and WILKES BARRE CAN CO. on the bottom rim. The top of the lid features faint embossed circular marks that are partially obscured by oxidation.
